The Great Resignation

The #hauserstrugglebuscompany regretfully announces the resignation of its original driver, Aksel Hauser. He will be chartering a new route with an alternate team and while we are happy that he has found enjoyment with his new crew, we are mourning our own great loss.

Since partnering together in 2001, Aksel and I have enjoyed decades of intense friendship, an immense love and a deep respect for the work involved in creating the future of our dreams. His contribution to our lives has been beyond comparison. Since being married in 2006, we have launched many adventures in adulting, including homeownership and a love for renovating as well as building our family.

Daughters joined our family in 2008, 2009, 2012 and sons in 2014, 2015. While we suffered the loss of our first son in 2014, we were able to grow in grief together and we all appreciated Aksel's stalwart attitude as the safe harbor for the family during the heaviest storms.

Some of our grandest adventures with Aksel have happened in the last handful of years as our children have grown quickly and blossomed and we moved closer to our wonderful extended families. We were blessed to have found a small homestead, a bungalow, to house us and we instantly admired Aksel's vision and determination for the home to be a haven for our troop. Together, we have renovated the spaces to fit our needs and made a comfortable and modern cove. It is here that the #hauserstrugglebuscompany will continue to reside and from here where we will launch future endeavors.

While this is not the vision that we had for our future, and we do indeed grieve for our circumstances without our able partner, we are resigned to respecting his decision and wish him all the best.

I'll be taking over as the lead driver for the #hauserstrugglebuscompany and will try to keep you posted on our new adventures and all the ups and downs along the road.

  1. Wow, Beth...you're not kidding about how much life can change in a year! I continue to be a lame, bald father of four in white bread suburbia, although my obsession (inhealthy/fiscally iressponsible) with Star Wars collecting has reached critical mass. I also almost died last Saturday because I made the mistake of donating platelets to the Ukrainian relief effort. Thanks to the American Red Cross' negligence, I now know I'm allergic to koumidan. I'm also now allergic to Kool-mo-dee and Anna Kournikova, but that's another story...
